What is a Green Home?

To be “green” refers to lessening the environmental impact from society. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Some examples of being green are: Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Composting Organics, Improving Indoor Air Quality and Recycling.

So in essence a “green home” is a home that increases the efficiency with sustainable resources such as energy, water and materials while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment. Green building incorporates environmental considerations and resource efficiency into the development and home building process to minimize the environmental impact.

Economizers: Those who are interested in saving on operating costs through resource management.

Investors: Individuals interested in life-cycle cost analysis and the value proposition of various green features.

Health Conscious: Those who are interested in the potential health benefits of green living.
